GE Datex-Ohmeda Aespire S/5 Anesthesia Machine

The S/5 Aespire is the result of GE’s unique method of anesthesia workstation creation, stemming from deep collaboration with clinicians. This device brings together the renowned efficiency of the 7100 or 7900 Ventilator with the globally recognized monitoring technology from Datex-Ohmeda. A cornerstone feature is the Advanced Breathing System, abbreviated as ABS. Crafted with feedback and insights from users, this system seamlessly integrates into the workstation. Its integrated electronics ensure the ABS is fully engaged or disengaged, and with fewer components, there’s a decreased risk of leaks or connection errors, enhancing patient safety. The design includes a Multi Absorber canister that ensures quick and straightforward removal or replacement. It’s fully sterilizable, and its inbuilt electronics monitor the ABS’s complete engagement or disengagement. The device also boasts a one-step mechanical switch between bag and vent, eliminating the need for electronics.

The GE / Datex Ohmeda Anesthesia Monitor Series integrates seamlessly, enhancing monitoring capabilities. Its lightweight and compact design ensures easy maneuverability. An optional integrated auxiliary O2 flowmeter and suction control provide additional utility. The Advanced Breathing System (ABS™) is a notable highlight, with a one-step bag/vent switch activating or deactivating the ventilator. The design minimizes parts and tube connections, reducing the risk of leaks and misconnections. The system is user-friendly, allowing tool-free disassembly and is both fully autoclavable and latex-free.

The 7900 SmartVent Ventilator offers both Volume and Pressure modes with electronic PEEP, and it features synced intermittent mandatory ventilation (SIMV). Users can directly access ventilator parameter settings, and the PSVPro offers pressure support with an Apnea backup mode. Smart alarms guide users to specific issues and the parameters they impact, making it especially suitable for spontaneously breathing patients. The system is designed for efficiency with improved low flow and requires only one scheduled maintenance check annually. Additional features include fresh gas flow compensation and a minimum O2 flow of 50 mL. The standard inclusion of dual airflow tubes ensures higher resolution during low flows.
